Task 4: Select 1 specific 'suite of Idents' for a channel

What is an Ident?
Is a bet like a commercial advert
but its not, it is film production or TV Channel. An ident usually last for
5-40 seconds showing their logo, numbers or colours. This is done before a
programme starts throughout a commercial break.
ii.
What is the purpose of an Ident/how has the
purpose changed over time?
There are plenty of what the
purpose of an TV ident, one of them is to creative identity for a channel, for
example, Channel 4 Ident is set in Tokyo and it very different as it is apply
that technology has change over the years and now corporate imagery as well as
animation as you watch channel 4 (1982) ident a lot has change as this one is
more creative and stands out from the rest. Also the
purpose of an ident is to market and promote the TV Channel more by this this
hopefully attract more views to Channel 4 channel.
iii.
How does it create Brand Identity of the channel
(personality, associations)
It
is very important that TV ident creates Brand Identity of the channel and shows
that Channel 4 is branding out to different nationality. The brand creates identity
by the personality of the channel for instance, the ident must reflex all what
they represent and stand for e.g. the different program the display on their
channel. Association for example, visuals on the screen to represent the
channel such as, the theme, logo, colour and graphic.
ii. Use of colours, logo and graphics
in Channel 4 ident-Tokyo the use colours are very bright
such as, blue, red and yellow display on buildings that is shape of the number ‘4’
which the TV Channel has corporate their
logo into the ident as views can recognise that the channel easily.

How it attracts the attention of the audience
Since
there are bright colours in the ident it
can be very eye catching as the ident is last for 44 second. Also it very
simple which might be eye catching as it easily to understand.
